Jet2 have invested £8.5million into a new training centre in Cheadle, near Manchester Airport
Jet2.com, the award-winning leisure airline, has invested £8.5 million in a new purpose-built training centre to support its growth ambitions. The new centre, which follows the success of the company's first training centre near Bradford that opened in 2014, will create a dozen full-time positions and allow Jet2.com to train thousands of colleagues annually.
The state-of-the-art centre is designed to provide a bespoke centre of excellence for Jet2.com's new and existing pilots, engineers, cabin crew, and ground operations colleagues. Spread across three floors, the facility features full and fixed-base flight simulators, cabin crew trainer units, engineering training devices, high-tech Computer Based Training (CBT) rooms, fully equipped classrooms, and briefing rooms.
Jet2.com's parent company, Jet2 plc, aims to grow sustainably and expand its fleet to meet the demand for award-winning package holidays and flights. The leisure travel group, which includes Jet2holidays, the UK's largest tour operator, has 98 firm ordered Airbus A320/A321 neo aircraft, with the potential to extend this number to 146 aircraft. The new training centre will play a vital role in ensuring that Jet2.com has highly-trained colleagues who can continue to deliver the company's award-winning customer experience while supporting its growth.
